7 simple ways to reduce your water bill.
With the cost of just about everything going up, it makes sense to save water. And luckily there are some easy ways to achieve this. Every little action you take to conserve water in your apartment can add up to big savings over time. Small changes to your daily habit will also conserve thousands of litres of water every year – which is good news for the environment.
Here are our top 7 tips:
Check taps for leaks. A dripping tap can result in 20+ litres of water wasted every day!
Keep drinking water in your fridge instead of running tap water until it is cold.
When running a bath, put the plug in, then adjust the temperature as it fills rather than letting the cooler water drain.
Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth. Don’t let all that water go down the drain while you brush! Turn off the tap after you wet your brush, and leave it off until it’s time to rinse!
Use your dishwasher and clothes washer for only full loads. Half-loads add up to litres and litres of wasted water.
Soak pots and pans instead of letting the water run while you scrape them clean.
Reuse the water from boiling vegetables or pasta to water your indoor plants once it has cooled.
We suggest giving some of these water saving tips a go. And once you stick at it, your actions will soon turn into a habit. Which is better for your wallet, and good for our environment too.
